FISH& NATURE COMBINATION

Visitors to Holbox on this combination trip will participate in the full gamut of angling and adventure activities. It allows a couple or a family to enjoy all of the island’s magic---fishing, exploring, horseback riding and golf cart excursions. And there is still plenty of time for beach living. The fishing is for Tarpon and Snook and nature excursions include golf cart island exploration, horseback on the beach, swimming in the sweet water Cenote and visiting the bird colony. If you plan only one trip to the Yucatan, and you want to do it all, this is the trip.

Day 1 Arrive at Cancun airport and transfer to Holbox via private van. Our lodge host Luciano will greet you and get you settled into beachfront accommodations. He will follow up with an in depth orientation of your trip details and schedule. Dinner at a wonderful little resaurant and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2+ Awaken to the sound of gentle surf and the smell of fresh coffee and enjoy a continental breakfast while preparing for a full day of fishing. You might fish offshore, stealth cast in the quiet lagoons or wade the flats in search of Tarpon or Snook. The non fishing partner will have a much more relaxed schedule, riding horseback on the beach, exploring the island on golf cart, swimming in the sweet water lagoon, and visiting the resident Flamingo colonies (depending on trip chosen). Snorkeling with the Whale Sharks is available June-September (extra charge). Anglers will return in mid afternoon in time to join their partner, Luciano and the guides at happy hour.

On your final day, you will rise late for coffee and breakfast. Gather you gear and snap a few more photos of the fantastic beach before heading back in your private boat and van to Cancun and your flight home.

Logistics of our Trips

Arrive by 12:00pm to 2:00pm for airport pick up. Otherwise we will pick you up at your Cancun hotel at 10:00am. It takes about 3 hours to reach Chiquila, a small pueblo at the end of the road, where you will board a private boat for a short trip to the island. We will stay in contact with the drivers until you are deposited on the beach in front of the lodge. Our manager will greet you and settle you into your rooms and pour you a special drink while he outlines your stay. You will relax on the beach the first day and begin the activities the following morning. Manager Luciano will advise you on the dinner options (on your own, about a block away) and watch over your needs and schedule for the duration of your stay. On your last day you will rise for a delightful last breakfast and a special espresso on the terrazzo. Depart mid morning from the lodge by private boat for the connecting van to Cancun.
